Environmental Work

Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre needs help with park maintenance. The volunteer selected will work alongside the site-based Managers and Program Facilitators to maintain the property and complete basic repairs.





Organizational Skills


Assisting Program Facilitators with daily operations  |  Disinfecting facilities and high touch point areas |  Tool and machinery operation |  Other tasks as deemed necessary by management. (* The team will train the volunteer on any machinery and provide safety training and equipment.)


Hosting Partner

The Tribune Bay Outdoor Education Centre offers a wide variety of educational and adventure programs in a breathtaking environment! The Centre operates on 15 acres within the Tribune Bay Provincial Park. The Park features include a historic lodge, camping areas and indoor heated cabins. The activities are suitable for youth, families and businesses. Staying outdoors allows visitors to have stimulating learning experiences, discover their full potential and become more adaptable in an ever-changing world!



Camp Characteristics






You must be at least 19 years old to participate in this project. Residents of the Vancouver Island Health Authority region will be prioritized.

Accommodation and utilities provided on site. You will have a budget and manage your own grocery.


Required Skills and Conditions

  • Working ability in English.
  • Communication, organization skills as well as a flexible and dependable team player.
  • Physically fit for strenuous work and long days.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check to work with children.
  • Comfortable working with commercial lawn maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to organize, know best task order and clean to a high standard, often working alone.
  • Current first aid with CPR-C.
  • WHIMS certificate is an asset, but not required


 Location: Hornby Island, British Columbia
