Vicky, Armenia, France, Ukraine

“I had the chance to live several workcamp experiences as a participant in Ukraine and in Armenia and as a camp-leader in France. Each volunteering workcamp taught me a lot about the culture of the hosting country, about the other participants cultures and also about myself. I developed my leadership which was very useful once back home. The volunteering workcamp are an excellent way to open yourself to the world, to develop the ability to adapt and to develop self-confidence. It is a project that I wholeheartedly recommend to anybody willing to go out of his comfort zone and live an incredible multicultural experience!”

Marie-JOSÉE, CZECH Republic

"It is hard to believe that my workcamp is over… The place I leave now is full of memories, more than I could ever have imagined! When I think about these three weeks, I will always remember those hours moving rocks, those evenings roasting sausages and bread around the fire, but above all, the people I met and who changed my life so quickly! With these new friends, I spend magical moments that I’ll never forget. Thank you for this great opportunity!"

“My voluntary workcamp is now over. Thanks to you kindness and your organisation, all of the fears, preparation, concerns that I had before leaving became nothing compared to the pure moments of happiness spent in my workcamp. I have only one thought now: going to Ukraine as soon as possible to participate to my second workcamp! “

“I liked the multiculturalism of the volunteering project. We spoke English all the time and this was what I was looking for. The other volunteers were really nice. The accommodations were really good, we all had our own room.”

Lara, Kyrgyzstan

“I was in charge of updating the English website and translating it in French. Then, I took care of communication with tourism organizations. I also learnt basis of Russian within a few lessons. I met amazing people from Leadership, Peace Corp or even tourists visiting Karacol! I had my own room in a local volunteer’s flat, which gave me the opportunity to share her way of living and discover new specialties every day.”

Emilie, ICeland

“Thanks to Chantiers jeunesse, I spent two weeks helping an Icelandic small town in the western fjords. I was working with two Russians, a Welsh, a German girl, an English girl, a polish girl and an American guy. We contributed to improve the environment of a really welcoming fishing village. It never rained, was never night! We picked trashes in rivers, on the beach, we renovated a camping by removing weeds, scraping the ground and spreading peat. It is tough to sum up all the memories of this experience. Life in groupe was surprisingly easy. Each of us wanted to learn about all the others. I tried to make them discover our culture. For example, one night everybody tasted poutine and sang Jean Leloup’s “I lost my baby”! After such an amazing trip, I am sure to do volunteering work again and I encourage anyone to do the same.”

“My volunteering workcamp was the most rewarding experience of my life and probably the most beautiful thing I could have done this summer! I absolutely loved the project and the country! As a first trip alone, I couldn’t have chosen better. I am ecstatic about my experience and I am looking forward to tell you all the details of it! “

Yoanie, South Korea

"Everything was great. People there were amazing. The hosts were really nice and welcoming. I loved my coworkers. I took the time that I need to get used to the centre. I felt like at home and like not abroad. The kids were fun and awesome. With two other volunteers, I taught them English, French and dance. I was just like at home, I had to make breakfast, lunch, dinner and to clean the centre. Actually, I did not felt like working.

The centre was beautiful. People were so kind, it was amazing. They gave us more than what we were able to offer them."

“England is amazing and people are nice. The supervision with Concordia was great! I really enjoyed my first volunteering workcamp and the project we worked on. The handicapped children were so endearing and the gardens of the school were very beautiful. I keep in mind loads of stories and pretty memories; I am looking forward to going on another workcamp!!”
