Help an urban population to better access a magnificent green space and participate in the upkeep of the Le jardin des sources (Springs Garden) and other municipal sites.

Volunteer project details

The goal is to contribute to the appreciation of green spaces in town, in collaboration with the youth centre of Sainte-Thérèse. The local population, notably the elderly who live near the parc, will be able to enjoy amazing views and keep doing their various activities.

Planned tasks

Weeding and cleaning park paths | Planting trees and perennials | Improving site infrastructure, including manual labour | Planning an open house to invite municipal residents for a celebration and opportunity to share | Elaboration of a creative project to promote the understanding and appreciation of the natural and ecological aspects of the site (ex. power point, photos)

Host partner

Since 1993, the residents of Saint-Thérèse and groups from Chantiers jeunesse have worked towards the transformation of an old gravel quarry into a new green space in the heart of the town. Le jardin des sources has become a rich and diverse natural space thanks to the work of many volunteers. One of the ponds has even been called ‘lake Chantiers jeunesse’ in honour of these groups!
