Additionally to workcamps Chantiers jeunesse offers the possibility to do medium or long term voluntary services (between one and twelve months). Those projects are also organized by our foreign partners of the Alliance.

The work varies from project to project. For example, you could help out with the administration in the office of our partners or you support a social institution.
You have to be flexible, be able to adapt and have a sense of adventure and improvisation. During an individual internship you will learn and improve professional as personal competences. It is an enriching experience which will be useful also after you came back home.

The projects for the individual internships usually last between 1 to 12 months. They can start at any moment.

Possible destinations

South Korea, United States, France, Greece, India, Japan, Krygyzstan, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ukraine and others varying each year.

Number of participants

Only one participant of Canada can go to a location.

Getting ready

Before your departure you have to inform yourself about the country and the culture where you would like to volunteer. The differences in professional life can be big because of other traditions and values. Be prepared and your time abroad will have a good start because you have a clear picture of your destination.

It is essential that you freshen up your language skills and to learn some work-related vocabulary. Also prepare yourself for the tasks you will have in the project, as far as you can do that in advance. Just get as much information as possible before you go on such an adventure in order to make it a good one.
