Volunteer camp project
Le Quartier des Générations is looking for volunteers who want to develop positive relationships with their clientele of independent senior citizens. The group will help plan and run the centre’s yearly winter festival, as well as participate in various activities such as adapted winter sports, social events, and mealtime with an intercultural group of seniors who have varying degrees of independence and mobility.
Tasks
- Plan and participate in the centre’s yearly winter festival
- Put in place a winter walking trail onsite
- Help with adapted winter activities, such as wheelchair skiing
- Indoor social activities with seniors
- Preparation of seedlings for the garden in preparation for spring
- Provide computer support to seniors
- Provide reception services at the front desk to socialize with a variety of seniors
Le Quartier des Générations is an innovative and community-oriented seniors’ residence. It allows people from different generations and backgrounds to meet through its collective spaces, diverse social activities and adapted housing options. With its unique approach, the organization wants to inspire other senior living environments across Quebec to truly meet the needs of a varied clientele.
Camp characteristics
Volunteers will sleep in a brand new community room. They will have access to a cafeteria service on weekdays, will have to cook their own meals on weekends, and will have multiple opportunities to share meals with the centre’s senior population.

Location
Located in Ahuntsic, a neighbourhood in the north of Montreal, le Quartier des Générations is set in a quiet urban area. Bordered by the Rivière des Prairies, it boasts many attractions such as the magnificent Île-de-la-Visitation Nature Park and the Promenade Fleury, which attract outdoor enthusiasts as well as gourmets. Located about ten kilometres from downtown, Ahuntsic is one of Montreal’s hidden treasures.
