Contribute to the organization of stimulating activities
for people living with an intellectual disability
Volunteer Camp Project
The L’Arche Outaouais community needs your help to organize and lead activities for its day centre, prepare excursions and develop innovative programming for people living with an intellectual disability.
Tasks
Organize and lead activities with users in accordance with the health measures in force | Collaborate with the team of assistants in the organization and animation of parties and community events | Support and accompany the workers of the Rainbow Toys workshop.
Hosting Partner
L’Arche Outaouais has four foster homes in Gatineau, as well as an adapted work workshop and a day center for aging people.
Camp Characteristics
You will be staying in a community house with L’Arche members (people living with an intellectual disability and colleagues, in a French speaking environment).
Meals are provided by L’Arche. You will also have a per diem for your days off.
You will actively participate in the daily activities of the oganization, you will help with the cooking and other collective activities.
Required Skills and Conditions
L’Arche Outaouais needs someone who is
- comfortable with group facilitation and organizing activities
- dynamic, creative and takes the initiative
- ready to get involved in the project between four to six months
If you have a driver’s license, that’s an asset!
*A criminal record check will be performed
* Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required
