Volunteer Camp Project
The L’Arche Le Printemps community needs your help to support people living with an intellectual disability in their living environment. The selected volunteer will accompany residents in their various daily activities and will help them to live with autonomy.
Tasks
Support the residents in their daily activities | Participate in the organization of activities and games | Possibility of supporting people in terms of care | Accompanying residents to their personal and medical appointments, as well as to any activities outside of the house | Maintenance of common spaces and support with daily tasks (meals, activities, etc)
Hosting Partner
L’Arche Le Printemps aims to promote the social inclusion of individuals living with an intellectual disability, by offering them the opportunity to make a significnt social contribution through their work and their involvement in society. The organization permanently accomodates twenty people living with a permanent disability in its four foster homes. L’Arche Le Printemps offers the residents a job or rewarding activities at their workshop and day centre.
Camp Characteristics
You will be staying in a community house with L’Arche members (people living with an intellectual disability and colleagues, in a French speaking environment).
Meals are provided by L’Arche. You will also have a per diem for your days off.
You will actively participate in the daily activities of the oganization, you will help with the cooking and other collective activities.
Required Skills and Conditions
L’Arche Outaouais needs someone who is
- comfortable with group facilitation and organizing activities.
- ready to support and interact with the residents.
- dynamic and creative, who takes the initiative and has a positive attitude. Social skills are key abilities for this project.
- ready to get involved in the project for three months, in a vilage surrounded by nature.
If you have a driver’s license, that’s an asset!
