SE Module 5 : Evaluation tools (4/8)

Evaluation tools

The impact of a project is often measured in ways other than desired outcomes. We encourage you to collect data that will reveal the unexpected effects of your project.

Here are some evaluation tools to help you identify these effects:

  • Surveys
  • Questionnaires
  • One-on-one interviews
  • Focus groups
  • Feedback log
  • Direct observation

Example

Desired outcome: Citizen accountability regarding garbage collection

Activity: Mini awareness campaign through posts on the neighbourhood Facebook group

Evaluation tool used: Survey sent over the group to measure the impact of the posts

Outcome: 75% of the 67 respondents said they now understand municipal regulations better thanks to the Facebook posts
